The Rent is TOO DAMN HIGH and will continue to increase if something is not done.
Anthony Beckford has been fighting for tenants rights and has taken direct actions against developers and landlords.
Anthony Beckford will work on having Preferential Rent taken out of the leases of tenants,
turn shelters into permanent housing, lower property taxes on houses and bring back affordable low income housing.
Accountability is key. Anthony Beckford has been leading the Brooklyn Sector of Copwatch Patrol Unit and has
been holding the police accountable in Brooklyn but primarily in our district. These officers who murder Innocent people
need to be fired, convicted and sentenced.
$2.75 is too much.
Fares need to be affordable and public transportation services need to be reliable.
Anthony Beckford supports and promotes #FairFares and #SwipeItForward so that community members can help each
other get to work, school and doctor appointments.
Anthony Beckford will fight to bring back the much needed funding for our public schools, small business owners,
valid mental health resources, adequate social services for families, better immigration services and protections, community youth
centers, after school programs, affordable summer programs and much more.
Discrimination against a member of the LGBTQ community is not and should not be tolerated.
Hate crimes against Trans men and women need to be stopped as well.
Legalization of Marijuana
Recreational use should be legalized and also medicinal purposes.
It makes no sense to send people away for years for something that is not listed as a hard or addictive drug.
When it comes to racial disparities, Black and Brown people will become targeted for marijuana use
more than their white counterparts. So we need to fight the war against our people.
Vote for ANTHONY BECKFORD on November 7, 2017

Anthony Beckford, is the only son of a Jamaican Mother with Cuban & Taíno Indian lineage. He attended P.S. 244, then transferred to P.S. 135 for Elementary School, I.S. 232 (Winthrop) for Junior High School, then graduated from Midwood High School (right across from Brooklyn College).
Beckford noticed that he had the power to make change happen at the age of 12, when he fought against and stopped the segregated rezoning plan that the School District was going to implement in 1992. Now at the age of 35, he has years of experience being a Community Advocate, Mentor, Marine Corps Veteran, Entrepreneur and Activist.
He has been dedicated to finding solutions and fighting on the front lines against the problems that plague the Black and Brown communities, such as social inequality, police misconduct, lack of resources, lack of funding for schools and after school programs, crimes due to poverty and so forth. He has heard and is prepared to address the much needed street repairs, business development opportunities for residents of the communities, the request for help from churches and non-profit organizations and the many other needs for the Flatbush, East Flatbush, Midwood and Flatlands Communities.
The existing businesses in the community will also be protected from corrupt landlords and greedy developers. Business will flourish once more to achieve keeping the dollar in the community more than 150 times before it leaves the community.
Community policing by the community itself is another agenda that will be worked on.
You may even see him walking around the communities Copwatching to make sure that there is accountable when it comes to the NYPD, to make sure they honor and respect the rights of those in the communities.
As a Single Father and a long standing member of this community who was born and raised in Brooklyn, Mr. Beckford knows what the needs of the community, especially the parents who make of over 3/4 of those who reside in District 45.
Mr. Beckford has also been on the front lines, battling against Trump's racist immigration ban and against the immigration officers who do Trump's biddings. When the First Travel Ban happened, Mr. Beckford was there protesting against it along with various grassroots organizations who do non profit work in various communities.
He understands the importance of Teachers and the needs of students.
Anthony Beckford was not raised privileged. He lived through life's struggles. His mother worked hard and taught him how to be an even stronger individual.
So on November 7th, 2017, make sure that you vote for Anthony Beckford, because you are not voting for a politician, you are voting for an advocate who has fought for your community, to be able to fight and provide even more for your community.
